In public law proceedings with an international dimension, Sarah Morgan QC and Manisha Marwaha represented a father residing in the USA. The case involved allegations of international child abduction and serious domestic abuse. Additional issues regarding the separation of siblings in different jurisdictions, the appropriate orders for placements abroad, mirror orders and concerns regarding the immigration status of all parties were explored extensively in this case. The proceedings involved a blended family with relevant links across three different jurisdictions. The case successfully concluded with a detailed care plan involving the return of the father’s children to him in the USA.
Jess Butterell of KBW Chambers also ably represented the father in the earlier stages of these proceedings; namely during a separate finding of fact hearing brought against other family members regarding allegations of physical chastisement.
