13 January 2023

Chambers is pleased to announce that Manisha Marwaha has been appointed as a Fee-paid Judge of the First Tier Tribunal, assigned to the Immigration and Asylum Chamber, by the Senior President of Tribunals. Manisha’s appointment took effect on the 16th January 2023.

Manisha was called to the Bar in 2009 and undertook immigration work in Chambers consistently throughout the first eight years of her practice. Manisha built a strong appellant based practice and was also appointed to the Attorney General’s Regional Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown; through which she has continued to represent the Secretary of State in judicial review claims. Manisha was ranked as a leading junior in the Legal 500 for immigration and described by the same directory as “An Immigration Law Specialist.” Manisha continues to maintain a busy and dynamic family practice in Chambers where many of her cases have overlapping international and immigration issues.

Manisha’s busy full time practice will continue as usual alongside her new part time judicial role. Manisha was also recently appointed as a Deputy District Judge in the Civil and Family jurisdiction in 2022.
