Stephen Dismore, Lewis Riley and Andrew Woodier were each sentenced to 11.5 years in custody following their conviction for aggravated burglary. The trial was conducted by Katy Rafter, with Mr Woodier pleading guilty on the fourth day of his trial. Mr Dismore and Mr Riley were found guilty by a jury of attacking John Hayes in his home armed with axes and a metal pole, whilst his wife and children were present. Riley and Dismore were also convicted of wounding with intent.
Daniel Penman dealt with the sentencing hearing, where each of the Defendants had numerous other matters including drugs offences, threats made with a bladed article and driving offences, dealing with issues of dangerousness, and mandatory minimum sentencing.
