Damian Broadbent successful in serious non-accidental injury case

03 August 2023

Damian Broadbent successfully represented a local authority who brought findings that a young baby sustained a skull fracture and was shaken.

The case involved complex medical evidence from a variety of disciplines, including neuroradiology, neurosurgery, haematology, paediatrics, and psychiatry.

Damian worked closely with the social work team and his instructing solicitor in the preparation of the case.

Damian’s instructing lawyer, Sarah Turnbull said:

“Mr Broadbent is a remarkable barrister who prepared this case with pristine precision without leaving any stone unturned. Counsel took a meticulous approach with analysing the medical evidence and indeed the evidence as a whole - which led to the necessary findings being made. Counsel is very robust albeit very fair and calm in his approach to handling cases of this nature. I would not hesitate to instruct him again.”
