Four members of a Sheffield gang convicted of offences involving drugs, guns and money laundering were given lengthy sentences on Thursday 25 January 2018. Anthony Dunne of KBW Chambers prosecuted the group, who were convicted of possessing weapons including a machine pistol and seven semi-automatic pistols, 1458 rounds of ammunition, 1.5 kilos of cocaine, 107 wraps of heroin and £42,000 in cash.
The offences were discovered when one of the gang members was arrested for driving whilst disqualified, and there followed what the police described as an organised attempt at disposing of criminal evidence as the weapons, drugs and cash were dispersed by other members. The longest sentence handed down was 27 years imprisonment. For further information about the case, click here.
